The trailer for the upcoming John Lennon biopic ‘Nowhere Boy’ has finally been put up on YouTube with albeit a mixed reaction.
Based on the book ‘Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon’, the film is due to be released towards the end of the year and stars newcomers Aaron Johnson as Lennon and Thomas Sangster as a young (and somewhat unconvincing looking) Paul McCartney.
The coming of age tale of Lennon’s late teen home life and early partnership with McCartney was written by gifted screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh, who also wrote the script for the Ian Curtis biography ‘Control’.
Surprisingly the trailer makes no use of any actual Beatles tracks and it is difficult to see the resemblance the actors have to their real life counterparts, however nonetheless anything with Lennon’s name on it is sure to catch the attention of fans around the world.
It’s having its world premiere tonight in London before being released in the UK towards the end of the year. Currently there are no plans to release it in the US.
