Kasabian have confirmed that they have already written most of the material for the follow up album to ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’
While speaking to internet radio station Dabbl, front man Tom Meighan explained that guitarist Sergio has already penned a number of songs for the as yet unnamed project while admitting it sounds very Pink Floyd inspired “It’s very 'Dark Side Of The Moon', its very essential and very beautiful, piano-based songs that sound beautiful and we're going to really grunge them up a bit."
Although the excitement is already abuzz with news that Kasabian are to produce a fourth studio album, Meighan admitted it would probably be some time before they get into the recording studio due to their hectic touring schedule, which is only getting busier as the band have just been announced as headliners for Scotland’s biggest music festival T in the Park next year.
"We're nearly there," he explained. "But we've just got to go and take 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' round the world and show it to people first.”
Meanwhile Tom has also laid into British talent show The X Factor calling it a “pile of shit that produces no good music.” Speaking about the treatment of some of the shows stars, Tom declared "Look at Susan Boyle. It is appalling what they have done to her. She doesn't know, does she, bless her. Poor thing. They are making her into this massive star and it is ridiculous. It will torture her for the rest of her life. She is not ready for it and she is not made for it. She is being manipulated. It's horrible."
