Guess Who's Back?

Date: 14 May 2009

Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helder has recently confirmed that the third and as yet untitled Arctic Monkeys album is complete and that they are about half way through mixing it.

The LP is rumored to have been produced by QOTSA front man Josh Homme. Having played alongside QOTSA it is thought that Josh invited them round to his recording studio in Rancho De La Luna in California where Homme produces ‘The Desert Sessions’.

The Arctic’s have not performed live in the UK for over a year and a half as front man Alex Turner has been focusing his attention on his side project The Last Shadow Puppets, having released ‘The Age of the Understatement’ to great acclaim and success in 2008. Currently on their longest break since forming the Arctic Monkey’s back in 2002 the band are hungry to get back on the road and showcase their new work.

The boys have been confirmed to headline this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival they are eager to have new material out before festival season gets into full swing. They are planning shows for the first time in Eastern Europe to prepare for the array of line up’s they have confirmed for this year and the many more that will be offered when the new LP hits stores.

Fans in New Zealand and Australia were lucky enough to hear some of the new material from Alex Turner & Co back in January, however the band are remaining tight lipped about which of the tracks have made the final cut.

Now for your aural pleasure we have pieced together all the new tracks that we can find on youtube, but we’re all going to have to wait for the LP release to see which made the final cut. Found any more on youtube? Email me at johnny@kokoasia.com and let me know.

Enjoy!
